| With the rapid development of economic globalization, the retail industry in China has been increasingly challenged by foreign companies. Under such competitive market environment, the problems of chain retail enterprises have to face are how to make effective reactions to meet the challenges. Supermarkets as the important part in the retail industry, the performance may be largely depended on the inventory and supply ability of the distribution center. Therefore, the inventory control of distribution center may make influences on the whole chain. However, the uncertain customer demand may lead to intense fluctuation of inventory and order quantity. On one hand, the overdose inventory may lead to high inventory cost. On the other hand, lack of inventory may decline the service level. Therefore, how to realize the effective inventory control of distribution center is the concern of entrepreneurs and researchers.The study of inventory control appears many different kinds of methods, which include the traditional mathematical statistics, system control theory and complicated system methods. The article combine the control theory and complicated system method, apply the advantages of SD and PI, set the PI-SD model and monitor the run process to come up with the effective inventory control strategy.Firstly, introduce the basic method and theory of inventory control in chain supermarkets distribution center, pay more attention to the SD and PI method. Secondly, analyze the system features of distribution center in supermarket chain from the aspects of demand characteristics. Thirdly, establish the PI-SD model and apply Vensim to simulate the running results. Finally, take the A supermarket distribution center as an example and build its PI-SD inventory control model and obtain the inventory control strategy, which minimize the total cost of inventory and maximize the service level in a period to verify the validity of the control model. |
