Since May 2014, a new round of El Nino events have occurred in the world. The El Nino event has lasted for 15 months, and will pass through the fall, into the winter, most likely to become the longest since 1951. Since entering the flood season this year, the precipitation pattern of our country to show " Flood disasters often occur in the southern region, the northern drought disaster areas often Fashan" feature, extreme weather has seriously affected the power grid safe and stable operation.The relationship between the power grid and the weather is close, and the meteorological departments of our country are lack of professional targeted service, and some areas have not yet carried out the relevant meteorological services. Due to the sudden and extreme meteorological disasters are increasingly frequent, the damage to the power grid system security and stability, the urgent need to strengthen the power grid meteorological disaster warning. In this paper, we get the relationship between electricity and meteorological, and know the main meteorological disasters in power network. Different weather caused by different disasters, the use of weather forecasting methods and numerical simulation, the combination of computer technology, To establish a method for the monitoring and early warning of the power grid meteorological disaster, which is the main body of professional warning, to provide a way for reducing the meteorological disasters.Through this research, it can develop the new field of the meteorological department in the power system, improve the early warning ability of the power grid enterprise to provide reliable weather data for the power department emergency response decision, avoid or reduce the loss caused by meteorological disasters, and has higher practical application value.In this paper, we have discussed the application of the meteorological early warning system to the grid system:First, to strengthen the meteorological Doppler radar data in the power grid operation forecast and early warning. Second, strengthen the power grid GIS electric railway traction station and other important power grid facilities weather warning. Third, to carry out the application of the disaster weather warning. Fourth, deepen the application of satellite cloud image data in the power network operation forecast and early warning.
