Water is indispensable resource for human life, production and development. And water is not only the basis of socio-economic rapid development, but also is an important factor of the ecological environment.Groundwater resources evaluation can provide a scientific basis for rational development, utilization and protection of water resources. Groundwater resources evaluation has both scientific value and more pratiocal value.This paper relies on the project "The study of 1:200000 hydrogeological map and space hydrogeological information systerm in Xinzhou City, Shanxi province". Conduct a comprehensive groundwater resources evaluation for 14 counties in Xinzhou city. The research results obtained in this article are as follows:(1)Organize a large amoute of data and draw hydrogeological map of Xinzhou City. Groundwater caculated partition is divided into basin plain area, hilly and hilly area of karst according to the topography of Xinzhou City. Caculate the quantity of groundwater respectily and then get the total groundwater resources of Xinzhou City.(2)The quality of groundwater in Xinzhou City is divided into five categories according to standard comparative analysis. Learn more about the quality of groundwater in Xinzhou City through comparative analysis.(3) Make recommendations for rational development and utilization of groundwater in Xinzhou City.
