Source Rock-Oil Correlation And Hydrocarbon Generation Research Of Hashan Region

Based on the theory of petroleum geology and organic geochemistry, a large number of data and methods like mass spectrum, isotope and biomarekers parameters are used to identify the the source rock of Hashan by means of multidisciplinary. Located in northwest margin of junggar basin, the reservoirs of Hashan area were damaged seriously and the crude oil were biodegraded extensively because of complex tectonic setting.Combined with key well Haqian 6, we attempted to summarize the different corresponding features of biomarker parameters due to biodegradation, we found that most tricyclic terpanes, pentacyclic triterpane and sterane were biodegraded more or less by microorganism, but aromatic hydrocarbon can effectively resist moderate-servere biodegradation, so the theoretical foundation is prepared for the further rock source-oil correlation. The quality and value of crude oil will be affected by biodegradation, therefore, the accurate classification of the biodegradation scale of crude oil can be used to predict the distributions of biodegraded oil, which is important to the prospect risk evaluation. So we summarize the the biodegradation scales of crude oil from Hashan area with two methods of internationally popular PM method and the latest Manco method. Afterwards, we can make clear of the biodegradation mechanism in Hashan area, and we can determine the source of the oil with multiple means like mass spectrogram, crossplot and migration parameters which are useful in locating source rock. After that we found that oil was mainly from the local source rocks, and Mahu depression also had contributed slightly. In the end, exploration prospect of Hashan area is bright through hydrocarbon generation evolution and potential evaluation researches on the determined source rock.
