The textile industry is a serious source of environmental pollution, cause of contaminationis directly related to various products used in printing and dyeing industry, especially dyeproducts. Therefore, concentration on the dye wastewater treatment, as well as the research onthe efficient and low-cost process has become a imperative matter. In order to avoid disadvantages of current dye wastewater treatment process that applieselectricity cohesion reactor, this research is aim to introduce a alternative process in which aself-made multi-stage circulation electro-coagulation reactor applied to processing diffidentkinds of dye wastewater. The paper is divided into four parts. The first part is the literature review section, it present not only the investigation andanalysis on the water resources situation of our country, the dye wastewater treatment, butalso concludes advantages and disadvantages of current technologies And base on suchresearch, the ideas was proposed that using multi-stage circulation electro-coagulation reactorin a variety of the dye degradation. The second part is the experiment section. The methodology is to use self-mademulti-stage circulation electro-coagulation reactor treating a variety of different types ofsimulated wastewater. The results shows the following parameters have major effect on theperformance of the electro-coagulation reactor on degradation of the effect of simulatedwastewater, which are pH, electrolysis time, the commutation frequency, electrolyteconcentration, current intensity etc.. And base on experiment data, the best process parametersfor all five types of simulated dye wastewater treating has been identified as inlet water pH 5,electrolysis time of 30 min, change to the frequency of the 60s, electrolyte concentration of 2g / L, current intensity 8A.Under the optimum conditions, a comprehensive comparison ofthese five types of dye degradation efficiency was made. The result is as follow: vat dye >disperse dye > direct dye > reactive dye > acid dye. What is worth to mention is that theremoval rate of chroma and CODCrcan achieve 99.51% and 75.42% respectively. It is discussed in the third part that the mechanism of removal of five different types ofdyes by multi-stage circulation electro-coagulation reactor. The summary of this experimental study is presented in the forth part, It it also analyzedthe problems in the experiment and proposed solutions and requirements for improving thedevice.
