Study On Improving The Performance Of Commercial Disperse Dyes

Disperse red 3B is an important red disperse dye, but there are some problems in dyeing process. In this paper, the influence of the metal ions and auxiliary on the absorbance of disperse red 3B was discussed, the effect of copper ions, iron ions, calcium ions, buffer and non-Buffer pH value, compound leveling agent, additives TA (melamine) and CD (β-cyclodextrin) etc,on the dye properties of Disperse Red 3B was studied.Compound of high fastness disperse dyes is one of the research directions about disperse dye at present.Better performance disperse dyes were selected and composed,the properties of dyeing and building-up, the interaction between dyes as well as the influence of finishing additives on dyeing were investigated.The results showed that: The effect of copper ions on Disperse Red 3B was greatest, which can easily lead to the shade of dyed samples and the short-wavelength shift. The order of various factors affecting on the absorptance of Disperse Red 3B was listed as follows:copper ions, sodium hydroxide, sodium hydroxide buffer solution, borax-boric acid and sodium carbonate-sodium bicarbonate buffer solution, calcium ions, iron ions, sodium carbonate, etc.;pH of dye solution was adjusted using sodium hydroxide, borax-boric acid and sodium carbonate-sodium bicarbonate buffer, which caused the darkness of dyed fabrics; but the addition of calcium ions in the dye solutions with the pH buffer system of sodium carbonate or sodium hydroxide should made the apparent color depth of dyed fabrics (K/S value) darker;In the presence of auxiliaries(TA and CD), K/S value of the fabrics dyed with Disperse Red 3B was decreased, but the stability of the hue for dyed fabric was good;The compound leveling agent SD-20 could improve the level-dyeing property of the dyed fabrics and there were good transfer dyeing properties.Compound high fastness disperse dyes had good promotion rate and wash fastness, and most of the dyes owned good light fastness and resistance to chemicals auxiliaries; The mixture of Azo structure of Dispersion Red 311 and Dispersion Red 278 can improve the dyeing performance and light fastness, which provided the basis on the commercialization of high-performance dyes.
