The study of the ecosystem health has become the new focus and most active front in ecology fields since its concept was first put forward10years ago. As the gathering places of the human civilization, cities have been expanding rapidly, while its own function is bearing tremendous pressure at the same time. Urban ecosystem health evaluation and its regulation have drawn great concerns of the academia, decision-makers and managers of the government.Urban ecosystem health evaluation index system is the basis not only for assessing urban ecological development but comprehensively reflecting the development level as well. In this paper,23indicators were selected from5elements according to the concept of urban ecosystem health:vigor, resilience, organization structure, serviceability and people living, to show the connotation of urban ecosystem health. Entropy-comprehensive evaluation model was established to assess the health level of urban ecosystem in Chongqing, China, the coefficients of weight index were derived from the available value of data reflecting the information entropy. Based on the evaluation results and mathematical modeling theory, GM(1,1)grey prediction model was established to make dynamic trend analysis of ecological health in Chongqing City.The article consisted of5chapters. The1st chapter was literature review, the other4chapters were the main parts of this paper, and the last chapter were conclusions of this paper.The1st chapter was a preface, described the background, purpose and meaning, main contents, methods and technology routes of the paper. The2nd chapter has given the classification and summary of structure, characteristics and basic functions of the urban ecosystem, discussed the present research situation of urban ecosystems and urban ecosystem health assessment at home and abroad.The3rd chapter emphatically introduced the principles and standards about urban ecosystem health assessment indicators selection, and has built the urban ecosystem health assessment index system. This part expounds in detail the applied principle of information entropy and the gray prediction model.The4th chapter described the basic situation of Chongqing city from natural ecosystem structure, social ecosystem structure, and economic ecosystem structure three aspects. It analyzed the functions of the life and production of urban ecosystem. Assess the health level of urban ecosystem in Chongqing from2005to2010by using entropy-comprehensive evaluation model, GM(1,1)grey prediction model was established to make dynamic trend analysis of ecological health in Chongqing City from2011to2015. The experimental results indicated that the overall level of urban ecosystem health was continuously improved from2005to2010, the elements index were arranged in order of evaluation value size, they were vigor index, resilience index, organization structure index, serviceability index and people living index. From these results and model, it can be concluded that the health level of Chongqing city ecosystem will rise continuously at the rate of e0.082during the year of2011-2015.This chapter has given a deep analysis according to the evaluated results. It was found from the analysis result that in2007the economic growth mode transformation of Chongqing and the urban environment transformation construction were important factors to enhance Chongqing ecosystem health. However, because of the larger population density in Chongqing City, there are more problem of housing and traffic. So the urban service functions need to be improved. Aimed at the above factors, the article put forward some suggestions to enhance Chongqing ecosystem health:adjusting industrial structure, enhancing urban economic activity, optimizing urban structure, constructing ecological settlements system, improving the urban service function; making urban and facilities and construction standard; increasing strength to improve convenience of civil life.
