Five-axis CNC machining technology is an important part and basis of the world’sadvanced manufacturing technology, and is also the most difficult field of NCtechnology. At prensent, there are more and more numerical control programmingsoftware with powerful functions, many programmings of complicated structure parts,which can not be completed by people, can be done using the NC programmingsoftware, but the part program from numerical control programming software shouldbe concersed by the post processor, then can be used for NC machine tools, and basictypes of five-axis linkage CNC machining center has twelve big classes, specialpostprocessor can only working for a certain type of five axis machining center,general postprocessor is lacking of a strong applicability, so develop a generalpostprocessor of strong applicability has become an urgent need.This paper analysis the most typical three kinds of twelve types of five-axislinkage machining center as an example developed a general postprocessor applyingto producting, from CATIA NC programming pre-processing platform, based onVC++. First of all, this article analysis the APT file characteristics of CATIA platform,establish a reasonable and optimized pre-file, this is also the premise condition of rearprocessing analysis; Secondly, analyzed the structure and characteristics of three kindsof the five-axis CNC machining center, built the machine tool kinematic chain model,studied the post-processing algorithm of five-axis CNC machine tools using the basicprinciples of computer graphics transformation; Then, this paper expounds thenonlinear error of the solution and the role of RTCP, and gives the algorithm of thechoice and optimization of the rotation Angle; Finally, using VC++tool and combining with the characteristics of previously mentioned APT statement and post processingalgorithm is developed general postprocessor with a strong applicability, and throughvalidation of the VERICUT and the actual validation.Production verified: the NC program generated by this general postprocesssystem platform for five-axis computerized numerical control machining center can berunned well in the CNC machining center and the machined parts met the designrequirements, achieved the automatic programming, improved programming level,quality and speed,especially, the strengths of CNC machine tools can be usedeffectively to meet manufacturing industry updates processing requirements; alsooffered a reference for developing post-processor for other types five-axis CNCmachining center.
