With the rapid development of industry and increasingly fierce market competition, aenterprise can be in an invincible position only shorten the production cycle and improveproduct quality. In numerical control processing industry, the stand or fall of NC program isone of the key factors affecting efficiency of parts machining and quality of machining.Therefore, ensuring the correctness of NC program, the optimization of NC program andimproving the utilization efficiency of NC equipment are the key problems presently inmanufacturing industry.Using CAD module of UG establish parts of impeller model with complex curved surface,combining the characteristics of impeller model with NC machining experience to choicerational cutting parameter and make machining process;Studied NC automatic program basedon CAM module of UG. According to process analysis and its structure characteristics,generate tool path in all stages of processing automatically and get the source file of toollocation. Elaborated the algorithm technology and principle of reprocess and solved machinekinematics, established specific-purpose post processor for specific machine by post builder ofUG. Dealing with the source file of tool location can get the NC code file which direct driveNC machine;Studied the simulation technology of NC machining process based on VERICUTsoftware. Establishing virtual environment simulation processing, call special post processor togenerate NC code file, simulated the actual machining process, check the correctness of theNC program to get efficient and high quality NC program eventually and verified thefeasibility and correctness of NC code generated by special post processor.In this paper, based on CAD/CAM/POST module of UG and VERICUT software, takethe free surface impeller machining as an example which have been focused both at home andabroad. By establishing a NC processing chain of modeling, processing, reprocessing, simulation and optimization in one set, customizing specific machine dedicated processors,solving tough problems often encountered in practical NC machining collision, interferenceand overrun to get efficient and high quality NC program eventually and verified the NCprogram by simulation results.
