Mine safety production was restricted by unknown geological structure severely.Coal mining conditions in China tend to be complex gradually, with the rapiddevelopment of the comprehensive mechanized mining method,tunneling speed wasfaster and faster. In order to get through the complicated geological conditions stripsafety and fast, there is need to know the geological structure in advance before thetunneling faceand takecorresponding technical measures.Based on the study status of channel wave seismic exploration around the world,existing channel wave exploration technologywas analyzed; basic theory of seismicwave and exploration methodwere studied;factors that influence thechannel wavefrequency dispersionwas summarized, especiallythe impact degree of transversewave velocityin coal bed, transverse wave velocityin roof and floor strata, coal seamthickness, coalseam density, roof and floor rocksdensityto frequencydispersioncurvewas simulatedby mathematical software Matlab. Research results canprovide theory basis for data processingof futurechannel wave detection.By improving the channel wave observation system and detection equipment,detection processwas optimized,construction becameconvenient, channel waveseismic explorationcan be wroteinto formal circulation chartand be mutual combinedwith excavation process. Finally, the active disasterprevention-protectionmechanismcombined with geophysical exploration methods and mining and excavation processwas concluded, which could maketheimplementation of geological detectionaheadoftunneling come true, in order to reduce the coal mineeconomic lossesdue tounknown geological structurein the process of tunneling.The geological structurefeasibility and accuracyaheadof mining face andtunneling face by channel wave seismic exploration were verified by engineeringpractice.
