Since the end of the century, with the size of the expanded open pit mining andmining depth increasing, the issues of the slope security in the open pit have causedgreat concern of the mining-leaders and government officials. And how to ensure thesafety and prevent landslides and other natural disasters occurring is the mainlysecurity issues in the currently open pit, and these are the mainly objects of theresearch in the subjects of rock mechanics. The paper is based on the study of the slope stability of Shuang Li in InnerMongolia. And the primary methods are data collection, laboratory testing andmodeling analysis. In other words, the first step is investigating and studying the orecharacteristics hydro geological conditions, carrying out rooming experiments ofphysical and mechanical. What the next to do is divided the mining pits into severaldifferent parts. Then, the study will going on modeling and calculation with theGEO-SLOPE to each partition in order to get the optimal slope angles and the variousfactors of the sensitivity and reasonableness of proposed recommends. The specificstudies are as follows:First, testing the currently slope stability of the2nd open pit of Shuang Li. Themain objective of the verification is to evaluate the stability of the current slope toprovide effective security for the current actual production. By checking the stabilitiesof each partition shows that the current slope circumstances are in a steady state, andthere is no large-scale landslides occurring.Second, optimizing and expanding the slope angle in order to help ensure thefinal slope angle in a safe state. Put another way is to reduce the stripping costs andincrease enterprise efficiency under safety.Third, analyzing the relationships between the slope stabilities and the severalrelated complications. In the study, what need to do is getting the conclusions ofwhether the ultimate safety factor of slope angle is reasonable by changing thedifferent related factors, for example: cohesion, internal friction angle, slope heightand blasting vibration. The main significance of the research are as follows: Providing the optimumslope Angle of the2nd hole of Shuang Li and putting an end to happen the securityhidden dangers; Analyzing the relationships between the sensitivity factors of safetiesfor specific rock properties and providing technical expertise on the value of the futurefor the mine production safety; Within the range of reasonable safety, as much aspossible to improve the slope angle and help the enterprise reduce the mineexpansions, cost savings, and create more economic benefits.
