Gas relief valve is a key device used in the process of iron making. When the blastpressure is higher than the normal pressure accidently, this gas relief valve opens, and thegas is released until the furnace pressure decreases to the safety state. The performance ofgas relief valve affects the output of pig iron, and reasonable structure of gas relief valveis conducive to smooth and steady production. Currently most gas relief valves havedrawbacks, such as large quality, complex structure, high difficulty of manufacturing andserious rustiness. These problems must be resolved, for the poor performance andfrequent failures of domestic gas relief valves affect the production of blast furnaceseriously, which will cause serious economic losses.Based on the performance analysis of different gas relief valves, a novel one used inthe top of blast furnace is designed. In this valve, links are used as the main transmissioncomponents, and hydraulic cylinder is used to drive this links to achieve the activities ofgas relief, cover open and so on. The energy storage component are arranged in thelinkage mechanism, when the valve closed, the disc spring stress compression providethe sealing pressure and ensure that the valve seal and exhaust gas at abnormal pressurecondition. About link rods using gas relief valves, the kinematics and the relationbetween power and energy are analyzed, and the structure of key parts, the sealingstructure and the hydraulic system are designed, make the stress check moreover. Thetransmission system is optimized based on the using constraints which ensure the motionparameters is more reasonable, reduce product size and reduce the driving power of theproduct. The key components are redesigned by the principle of lightweight using finiteelement method. Equipped with centralized lubrication system for the product, to avoidthe rotary parts process blocking problems caused by long-term outdoor useing; Finally,the advantages of this link rod type gas relief valve are analyzed by means ofcomparison.The results show that link rod type gas relief valve is stable and reliable, and ofgood sealing performance, and the problem of rustiness is solved by using mechanism of storage; the sizes of the key components of are optimized, which avoids the blindness inthe process of design and improves the efficiency and the standards of design; the gasrelief valve designed by the principle of lightweight can ensure its good performance, and928.63kg of quality is decreased, which accounts for32.10%of the total weight. The costof material is reduced by35.24%, which enhances the market competitiveness of link rodtype gas relief valve.
