Research On The Construction Of Hotel Environmental Responsibility Report System Based On Content Analysis

Currently environment issues have attracted more and more global attention, the latestThird Plenary Session of the18thCPC Central Committee has clearly put forward that“Centering on the construction of Beautiful China, we will deepen the reform of theecological civilization system and speed up its regime building, promote the new pattern ofharmonious modernization development of human and nature".As the most important part ofsustainable development, enterprises should participate in the implement of environmentalresponsibility quickly. According to the World Tourism Organization (WTO), the UnitedNations environment Programme (UNEP) and the World Meteorological Organization report,tourism is one of the major sources of greenhouse gases, in which tourism transportation andaccommodations catering industry are notably the largest parts; Meanwhile hotel industryoccupies an important place in tourism industry, while it is charctered with "high energyconsumption, high investment and high pollution". Therefore, the hotel enterprises areimportant responsibile for sustainable environment development. The construction of hotelenvironmental responsibility report system will not only promote the competitiveness of theenterprise and accelerate the industry development, but also benefit the environmentalgovernance and ecological responsibility accountability externally.Based on content analysis, this thesis constructs the hotel environment socialresponsibility report system from two levels by three steps. By summaring correspondingtheories, such as the sustainable and low-carbon development, corporate social responsibility,hotel environmental responsibility, environmental management etc., the thesis extracts theBasic Framework of the hotel environment responsibility report; Based on two environmentalresponsibility related texts, which are collected from domestic and foreign instructions,standards and hotel reports, by using content analysis, this thesis firstly analized highfrequency words and their correlation from macro perspectives with ROST software, and thenmodified the basic framework to form the Category List; On the basis of the category, furtheranalysis was implemented by using NVivo software to encode the sentences and phrases andto compare the coverage and content. Finally the Term System is constructed as the hotelenvironmental responsibility report system.The hotel environment responsibility report system is formed by the "basic information"and "environmental responsibility content", the later part mainly includes hotel environmentallaw compliance and certification, environmental strategies, environmental management, greenproducts and services, environmental accounting and environmental performance,environmental stakeholders these six aspects.
