Submicron dust puts people’s health and environment into danger, atpresent, the de-dust technology has a high overall efficiency. However, itdoes not have a good performance for particulate under1μm. Electricagglomeration as a pretreatment system can highly improve the filter’scapture ability. The thesis focus on the influences for electricagglomeration and the filter’s efficiency in the situation of alternatingvoltage, what’s more, the paper talks about the particle dischargecharacter and electric agglomeration efficiency with alternating voltage ofone600MW coal-fired power plant in details, which is listed as follows:1. Dielectric Barrier Discharge (DBD) gathers two processes,particulates charge and electric agglomeration, into one step, which canbe operated again and again in DBD and increase the efficiency. AddingPPS filter to the rear of DBD will enhance the de-dust ability forsubmicron dust. At the same time, it can shorten the length of the deviceand reduce the cost.2. The experiment with changing the conditions of electricagglomeration indicates that the efficiency increases with the voltageincreasing, the optimized frequency is120Hz and prolonging the staytime can improve the electric agglomeration efficiency effectively. Italso shows the property of dust such as dielectric constant can influenceelectric agglomeration performance. The dielectric constant is more, theperformance of charging and agglomerating better.3. The experiment results tell that the PPS has optimal filter windvelocity1.5m/s, the de-dust efficiency is improved with the increasing voltage. The less special resistivity results in higher efficiency. To someextends, the de-dust performs better with the higher relative humidity.The particulates (diameter of0.5μm) are get rid of more than10μm ones,which illustrates that the electric agglomeration-fibrous filtration is aneffective method to control the emission of submicron dust.4. The flue gas of600MW power plant goes through the ESP, theremaining is PM2.5. In the experiment, using the electric agglomerationbefore the bag filter, adjusting the wind velocity to1.5m/s and regulatingthe frequency and voltage to120Hz and12kV respectively, the resultshows the counts of particulates in the level of0.3-0.5μm and0.5-1μmreduce by14.1%and8.2%respectively, compared to the result withoutthe electric agglomeration device. All in all, electric agglomeration candramatically improve the de-dust efficiency of PPS filter.
