Under the requirements of the developing trends of new energy industry,afterthe research and inspection of the domestic and international pipeline leak monitoringand leak position locating methods, Combined with the actual situation of methanedrainage in coal mine, This article designs and studies the leak monitoring and leakposition locating system of the main methane drainage pipeline.The sensors collectand process the pipeline running parameters and intelligent judge pipeline leaks or not.Then it will send out an automatic alarm and give the leak location if leakagehappens.At first, this article studies the technique of the pipeline leak monitoring and leakposition locating theoretically, and designs the simulation experiment platform of themethane in coal mine. This system includes both hardware and software parts, thehardware part select S7-200series PLC as the core, containing the central monitoringstation, monitoring substation, PC and various sensors. The expansion module EM231is used for the signal acquisition of sensors and converting analog signal to digitalsignal. PC will transmit the command to the central station by the free portcommunication. The software part selects the Visual Basic6.0as the programingplatform and designs the visual interface with multiple functions. PC processes thedata which receives from central station, and stores them in the SQL server database.This article researches the main channel leaking characteristics through thesimulation experiment on the pipeline from the flow rate, oxygen concentration, andnegative pressure. Based on the experiment, it proposed the comprehensive leakdetection methods of the main methane drainage. It analyzes and validates thelocalization algorithm and program, which ensuring the validity and accuracy of thesystem. Through the experimental study and analysis of the system, it reduces thefalse alarm rate effectively and improves the position locating accuracy, whichguarantees the efficiency and utilization of methane drainage, and also lays atheoretical and data foundation for the successful application in the coal mine.
