For gas coal mine, gas accident is the most potential safety hazard in the process of coal mine production. In our country, the rate of all deaths in the significant gas accidents causing over 3 people's deaths increased year by year in 1990 to 2000. Since 1996 the rate has been keeping above 40%, up to 45.61%. Therefore as the principal contradiction of potential safety hazard, effective precaution of gas accident has become a key link to solve the problem of safety hazard. In addition CBM resource is abundant and widely distributed in our country. The government energetically supports the development and utilization of CBM, so CBM resource will have a huge market.Based on the seriously investigation and study, the author found that none of manufacturers have obtained the safety certification of monitoring equipments for gas drainage. Most manufacturers realize the monitoring and control of gas drainage based on the existing comprehensive monitoring system for safety production supplemented by simple other functions such as drainage measurement, power off, power rehabilitation, over-limit alarm and so on. As far as the standard of gas drainage's monitoring system is concerned, the nation has not established unambiguous standards to regulate this area yet and still based on the standard of comprehensive monitoring system for safety production in coal mine. This results in backward technology of monitoring equipment for gas drainage, lower efficiency of pumping and drainage, low utilization efficiency and so on. Now it is imperative to develop a set of advanced gas drainage's monitoring equipment for establishing the standard of gas drainage's monitoring technology.The author puts forward the monitoring technology of gas drainage based on CAN bus combined with the existing computer control system and present international accepted mature application technology——CAN field bus technology. The application of this technology is beneficial to the guidance of gas drainage, the gas application and the safety production in coal mine. The application of this technology can reduce the manual misoperation, avoid the occurrence of mine accidents and improve the speed drainage monitoring technology adapts to the need of the market and brings about the significant social and economic benefits. Its application prospect is very huge.
