Cone disk is the key component of metal V-belt continuously variable transmission, CNC Turning and Grinding Compound Machining Center with the vertical structure of inversion is the kernel equipment processing it. At present, the design and manufacturing of such equipment is monopolized by minority of developed countries. Accelerating development of Turning and Grinding Compound Machining Center for CVT Cone Disk with proprietary intellectual property rights has great significance in replacing imported product, promoting the localization of automobile automatic transmission, advancing the adjustment and upgrade of industrial structure.The paper depended on National science and technology major project “numerical vertical turning and grinding compound machining center” carried on the research of CNC control system, and following were main research work:1Analyzed the structure principle of metal belt CVT and structural feature of its core component cone disk, summarized machining index of cone disk and technical performance index of the compound machining center. Elaborated the mechanical structural features of machining center, designing and operating principle of its major components, and analysis the different operating modes of the motor spindle in the status of turning and grinding. Made detailed control process of machine tool based on the processing craft of cone disk, and concluded design requirements of CNC control system of compound machining center.2Made the research of modular architecture of open NC system, analyzed the necessity of building open system based on the demand of performance, reconfiguration and expandability etc. Analyzed realization approach of open CNC system. According the project requirements, designed open CNC system based on PC+motion controller. Has completed the construction of hardware platform and analysis of closed loop control mode. Solved the problem of circular precise positioning of motor spindle and knife rest. Accomplished design of major loop and control loop. 3Solved the problem of the cone disk central bore positioning by a new method based on optoelectronic switch, elaborated the detailed design principle and made experiment to test it. Realized the measurement of diameter and end face taper of cone disk through by used of precise displacement sensor and special measuring equipment. Researched PID tuning principle of motion controller and debugged the motor servo characteristics, improved rigidity and stability of servo control system.4Developed the control system software using the technology of object-oriented. The development platform was.Net, the development tool was visual studio and programming language was C#. Made plan of software system modular function; Researched dynamic link library call method of motion controller. Implemented the software system function of message communicating, file management and processing status display, etc. Accomplished the design of friendly human machine interface.
