Coal and gas outburst is one of the major disasters in Wulan Coal Mine. In order to prevent coal and gas outburst pertinently, through theoretical research and field test, gas pressure, coal seam gas content, coal seam permeability and so on are determined. The basic testing work can lay a good foundation for outburst prevention measures and the selection of comprehensive gas control scheme. The main conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1) Through field measure and laboratory analysis, it shows that the gas pressure of the main mining coal seams in Wulan coal mine is0.55-4.60MPa; the gas content is4.61~13.51m3/t, the coal seam permeability coefficient is0.593-2.754m2/(MPa2.d). The gas pressure, gas content and gas emission increase with the burial depth increasing. All main mining coal seams of the Wulan coal mine are drainable.(2) The geological factors affecting Wulan coal mine gas occurrence are: Hulusitai syncline, thrust fault, graben fault, other NW, SN cross fault in the region and the buried depth of coal seam in the layer domain. Coal mine gas geological unit of Wulan coal mine can be integrally divided into one unit.
