With the development of human civilization, climate issues have becomeincreasingly prominent, the impact on people’s lives is stronger and stronger.Greenhouse gas emissions are considered as an important cause of glo bal warming.Large amounts of greenhouse gases discharge into the atmosphere. To some extent, these gases control the flow of natural energy and even accelerate global warming. Asan important part of the greenhouse gas emissions, municipal solid waste di sposalprocess needed to be managed well, the amount of gas needed to be calculated.Meanwhile, it is necessary to quantify the impact of socio-economic factors onemissions.Firstly, calculation methods of municipal solid waste disposal (landfill, incineration and composting) of greenhouse gas emissions was collated according to"2006IPCC inventory guidelines" and other research data. Also, emission factors andthe selection method were given.Secondly, the amount of greenhouse gas emissions during munici pal solid wastedisposal process was estimated. At present, landfills is the main way in municipalsolid waste management in China, accounting for about80%of the total processing.garbage incineration accounts for about20%of municipal solid waste manag ement.Composting only accounts for about1%. From2003to2012, greenhouse gasemissions amount of municipal solid waste disposal increased on a yearly basis, theaverage annual growth rate was4.1%. During2012, MSW three treatments (landfill, incineration and composting) greenhouse gas emissions were152million tons,17.78million tons and74million tons, respectively. Accordingly, the proportion was89.14%,10.43%and0.43%, respectively.Thirdly, population (P), per capita real GDP (A) and countdown (T) of per unitmass of solid waste and greenhouse gas emissions were selected as a garbagegreenhouse gas emissions factors (I) affecting urban life, building STIRPAT model, quantifying the socio-economic factors on the disposal of municipal solid waste i n theprocess of China’s greenhouse gas emissions by ridge regression. MSW greenhousegas emissions is in direct proportion with the number of urban population, and thecoefficient is0.3849percent. With other conditions remain unchanged, every1%increase in urban population will lead to urban living garbage in greenhouse gasemissions increased by0.3849percent. GDP per capita proportional impact onmunicipal solid waste greenhouse gas emissions and the coefficient is0.0783. Also, with other conditions remain unchanged, GDP per capita increase1%would result ingreenhouse gas emissions of municipal waste increased by0.0783percent. Technicalindicators of urban life the impact of greenhouse gas emissions garbage inverselyproportional coefficient of-0.5097. under other conditions remain unchanged, thetechnical indicators for each1%increase in urban living garbage greenhouse gasemissions will be reduced by0.5097%.Finally, based on these results, suggestions and countermeasures during disposalprocess of municipal solid waste management system were put forward.
