The Research Of Traditional Bean-shape Lamp’s Artifact Design Based On The "Product Semantics"

In today’s information era of diversification, along with the continuous improvementof people’s living standards, people’s lifestyles and consumption concept has undergoneenormous changes. In the case of physical needs are met, people will be more pursuit ofspiritual things, traditional culture plays an increasingly important role in the design, andeven becomes a key factor in the success of the design concerns. In this era of diversity, itwill be become a necessity of the times to transform culture and emotion into innovativeproducts, and been an inevitable trend in the future to design and create the product ofethnic and cultural characteristics.This thesis selects traditional bean-shape lamp as the study object, and does designstudy from the perspective of modern product semantics. Firstly, the author analysis thecore concept of this paper, and defines the concept by the traditional lighting of thetypological study of bean-shaped lamps. And then analysis the concept of productsemantics, the causes and theoretical foundation of semantics. One is a representative of thetraditional artifacts culture, another is a modern product design theory.The author tries tocombine the two to find the junction point of this thesis：semantic study of bean-shapedlamps and the revelation of bean-shaped lamp inherent design thinking for modern design.Through the horizontal and vertical analysis of the bean-shaped lamp semantic symbol(shape, material, decorative patterns),bean-shaped lamps’ semantic and the reasons ofsymbolic evolution are known clearly,and the traditional thinking and design creation thatthe bean-shaped lamp contains are summarized.Finally,this thesis sums up the ways of heritage the traditional culture,based ontraditional design thinking that the bean-shaped lamps convey, and comes up with atheoretical model to build traditional cultural programs and cultural meaning conveyprocess on this basis,in order to provide methods guidance for the designers to create thecontemporary product of national culture.And then proves it justified and feasible with adesign case.
