Huainan is one of the biggest coal mining area of anhui province. It is located in the anhui province, the middle reaches of the huaihe river, the southern margin of the huaibei plain. It is a typical resourceful city built with the mine. Huainan divided into six big subsidences by coal mining. Three research waters of different trophic states in the Huainan, including XQ site, ZJ site and GQ site, were chosen to analysis and evaluation the surface water and sediment trace element with ICP-MS and flame atomic absorption spectrophotometry. The main research results showed as follows:1) The content of seven kinds of common trace element, Cu, Cr, Ni, Cd, Pb, Hg, the randomness is large in the subsidence surface water. The level of content of Ni, Cd, Pb and Hg is over III surface water quality standard, especially with Pb and Hg pollution problems.2) The distribution features of the study in a horizontal direction and vertical direction of the seven trace element showed that the content of Cd is more than Ⅲ soil environmental quality standards. The content of Fe is stable in the horizontal and vertical direction. The content of Cd in GQ site and Pb in ZJ is volatile.3) The sediment trace element of XQ site, ZJ site and GQ site is evaluated with index of geo-accumulation, average enrichment factor and the potential ecological risk index. These methods are accurately and effectively. The harm of trace elements from in turn for Cd>Cu>Pb>Ni>Zn>Mn>Fe.4) The result of the analysis of correlation in there mine areas is that the correlation of Fe and Mn with other elements is obvious. The reason may be due to the combination of Fe, Mn oxides and related elements formed state caused by Cd significantly associated with a variety of trace elements. In the three mines, the correlation of GQ mine area is the best one.
