Die steel is an important die material, the quality level and the servicelife determines not only the die service life, but also relates the continuityand the economy of industrial manufacture. The rapid development of the dieindustry also stimulates our market demand for die steel.The controlled cooling aims to improve the steel structure andperformance through controlling the rolled steel cooling speed. Hot rollingflat die steel applies controlled cooling technology to promote thecombination performance of the steel and increase the marketcompetitiveness. The rolled flat die steel controlled cooling process uses therolled waste heat which can replace rolled normalizing treatment andquenching and tempering treatment, save the reheating energy consumption,reduce production processes and production cycle and also decreaseproduction cost.This issue uses model718(3Cr2NiMo) die steel to be the researchobject which is manufactured.Ltd and adopts the fundamental of heat transfertheory to analyze the hot rolling flat die steel rolled controlled coolingprocess. Also it adopts appropriate simplification and assumption, refers todomestic and overseas controlled cooling material, chooses reasonablestarting conditions and boundary conditions and builds two-dimensions andthree-dimensions flat die steel finite element model. Using APDL languageprogramming of ANSYS software to have a model, it analyzes the threecooling methods including laminar cooling, water screen cooling andair-vapor cooling and analyzes and compares the temperature field andstress-strain field of the flat die steel under the three cooling methods to findout the advantages and disadvantages of the three cooling methods.The analysis result of this issue has practical guiding significances formastering cooling principles of hot rolling flat die steel and developing newcontrolled cooling process and provides scientific evidences for applyingsteel plate rolled controlled cooling technology.
