Titanium alloy is a kind of high performance and important metal structural materials. Since the1950s, titanium alloy obtained great development. Titanium alloy has characteristics of high strength, low density and corrosion resistance, and so on. So it has been widely used in biology, medicine态oil and other industrial areas, especially in the field of aeronautics, astronautics and military.But as titanium alloy has small elastic modulus, small coefficient of thermal conductivity and small deformation coefficient which can make the tool severely wear in machining process and make the workpiece surface burns easily. So It is a kind of typical difficult-to-machine materials. At present, the traditional finishing machining technology is also difficult to it. And the magnetic abrasive finishing technology obtained the rapid development in recent years with good flexibility, high grinding efficiency, low temperature, strong adaptive characteristics and so on. It has obtained the better application in processing flat, inside cylindrical surface, outside cylindrical surface and the curved surface parts and has received the widespread attention.This paper use the magnetic abrasive finishing technology mainly to grind and polish the titanium alloy plate, and analyze and research the surface integrity index(include surface roughness, hardening, surface microstructure, residual stress) of titanium alloy plate after polishing, The major research work is as follows:1. Determination of influencing factors with magnetic abrasive finishing titanium alloy plate Grind titanium alloy plate by using the magnetic abrasive finishing technology and determine the factors of affect the magnetic abrasive finishing. Factors mainly include the magnetic induction intensity, machining gap, machining time, abrasive particle size, spindle speed. And this paper analyzes the effect of the influence factors on surface roughness of titanium alloy plate following the change of machining time.2. Research of surface roughness of magnetic abrasive finishing grinding titanium alloy plateInfluence of magnetic abrasive finishing grinding titanium alloy plate on surface roughness is researched with orthogonal test of four factors and three levels. Find out the primary and secondary sequence of four influence factors through range analysis. Discover the better factor level combinations of machining titanium alloy plate by variance analysis. And finish experimental verification of the combination.3. Research of surface hardening and microscopic structure of magnetic abrasive finishing grinding titanium alloy plateInfluence of magnetic abrasive finishing grinding titanium alloy plate on surface hardening and microscopic structure is researched with orthogonal test of four factors and three levels. Microhardness values are obtained by measuring. Find out the primary and secondary sequence of factors that influences the surface hardening through range analysis.4. Finite element analysis of residual stress of magnetic abrasive finishing processA two-dimensional model is established. The residual stress are analyzed of magnetic abrasive finishing process with the aid of finite element simulation soft ware-ABAQUS.Through the results it can be seen that the magnetic abrasive finishing can effectively polish titanium alloy surface and improve the surface quality of titanium alloy plate.
