Analyzing the difference and connection of environmental risk source and risk source. And this determines that the environmental risk source mainly refers to the dangerous source which can cause serious environmental pollution, serious harm to human health.Identification of environmental risk source which include reliability engineering analysis, accident analysis, environment recognition, material risk identification, risk identification, risk of chemical reaction process, the risk identification of process and analysis of environmental impact. Among them, reliability engineering analysis including simplified the system and reliability engineering system; material risk identification including identification of flammable and explosive substances and toxic substances; the process hazard identification include safety check list (CL), preliminary hazard analysis (PHA), failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA), hazard analysis (CA) four kinds of methods.Analysising the advantages and disadvantages of the four kinds of process hazard identification method, put forward to the failure mode effect analysis (FMEA) method as foundation and combined with the degree of influence analysis to identify the mine environmental risk source.In addition, this paper also on the loess slope coal mine as an example, applicating the proposed coal mine environmental risk source identification method. Mine environmental risk source identified include storage bunker coal dust explosion, boiler exhaust gas emission, fault sewage and mine water and mine flooding accident fault efflux emission.Some discussion and suggestions on environmental risk source identification is proposed:to accurately determine the environmental risk source, we should continuing strengthen research and development model, and basic data in reserve; when identifing the environmental risk source, we should consider other environmental risk in the region; GIS spatial analysis technology, can be used to the identification and analysis of environmental risk source, risk receptor, it will be more systematic and more accurate; in the identification of environmental risk source, we should highlight the characteristics of the industry enterprises and analyze the characteristics of the industry.
