Since digital mine development strategy put forward in the21st century, the useof information technology and visualization platform to change the drawbacks oftraditional industry has become one of urgent problems on mining development andmining technology research. To truly realize digital mine, it must be to create athree-dimensional geological model, achieving mining ore three-dimensionalsimulation and visualization in a real natural environment. It has not only importanttheoretical and economic value on mining development but also has far-reachingsignificance on the theory and methods of three-dimensional geological modeling tostudy establishment of a three-dimensional model based on borehole data. The maincontents of this paper are as follows(1) In this paper, we introduce the background and significance of thethree-dimensional geological modeling,analyze of domestic and foreign researchstatus and development trends, clear thesis research contents and methods.(2) This paper introduces the basic concepts and features of three-dimensionalgeological model, analyses a variety of methods to build three-dimensionalgeological model based on surface model, body and hybrid models as well asadvantages and disadvantages of different methods,selection principle and basis.According to live engineering background of the study, we describe the modelingmethod.(3) The paper introduces the importance of basic geological data forthree-dimensional geological modeling, features and extensive application of boreholedata, relations between3D geological modeling and drilling data, analyzing the keytechnology and principle s to use DIMINE for studying three-dimensional geologicalmodeling.(4) Creating geological database on EXCEL spreadsheet. We build surface modelsgenerated with topographic contour method based on irregular triangular meshprinciple, make use of spatial interpolation techniques to further encrypt contours,insert lines smoother and more complete contour data, then get more realistic terrain models.(5) In this paper, we make a reliability analysis for Three-dimensional geologicalmodel and make a comprehensive comparison and analysis between flat profilescutting from three-dimensional geological solid model with the corresponding CADflat profiles for modeling.
