Bath formula and plating conditions of electroless Pd plating on304stainless steel were studied. The optimum technology was obtained by primary technology and orthogonal experiment. Various experimental methods were adopted to study the corrosion resistance of the film. The results revealed that the quality of the films was obviously improved, and the influential factors of technology, such as the thickness of PdCl2, temperature, time, had significant effect on the film’s corrosion resistance, The results, which naked specimen and electroless Pd plating were tested by Mass lost test, polarization curve and electrochemical impedence spectroscopy in various temperature and thick vitriol, seawaterwater, nitric acid etc, showed that electroless Pd plating improved the corrosion resistance of304stainless steel in vitriol, seawaterwater, organic acid, the erode velocities of electroless Pd plating were lower obviously than the erode velocities of naked specimen in Mass lost test, the passivative electricity of electroless Pd plating was lower than naked specimen in polarization curve, the radius of impedance of electroless Pd plating was higher than naked specimen in electrochemical impedence spectroscopy; but electroless Pd plating didn’t protect304Stainless Steel and corrupted quickly in hydrochloric acid and nitric acid. The results of XPS showed that the plating even distributing palladium and oxide iron, the elements of the film was made up of Pd, Fe, O.Furthermore, process and performance of electroless Pd-Ag, Ag plating on304Stainless Steel were mainly studied. Compared the corrosion resistance of Pd, Pd-Ag, Ag plating and naked specimen, the results showed that the corrosion resistance of Pd plating was the best process.
