With the extension of low-carbon economy, low-carbon city, the concept of low-carbon is gradually penetrating in the resident’s living. Community is basic functional unit of urban residents living, also the extension in micro-level of low-carbon. The household is the basic unit of society which family members living together and influence each other in daily travel、 consumer and other aspects. Therefore, low-carbon travel based on community household will become an important component of the urban low-carbon transport.This paper constructs a travel carbon emissions calculation model based on two travel variables (distance and mode). It designs the effect variables from two aspects which are attributes of household and community space, and do research on the action relations between travel variables and effect variables. Take three communities of Nanjing for example, it focus on analysis of the impact of effect variables on household travel behavior, attempts to establish the influence mechanism of daily travel carbon emissions. In the framework of above research, it puts forward the strategies on transportation construction and urban development aiming at family travel carbon emission reduction.The present article section is arranged as follows:Chapter Ⅰ:Introduction. It includes background and significance of this study, the purpose and content of research, methods and ideas, and a detailed interpretation of the title papers.Chapter Ⅱ:Theory and related research. It summarizes the relevant theory and correlation study in recent years, including the urban traffic with carbon emissions, household carbon emissions, and traffic trip studies.Chapter Ⅲ:the theoretical study of daily travel carbon emissions. It builds carbon emissions calculation model based on travel mode and travel distance. The influencing factors of travel carbon emissions include the family attributes and community space. The family attributes includes family scale, household economy. The community space includes community location, density of street, service facilities and traffic facilities. The function route of the factors will described through correlation analysis between the designed variables and family travel variables.Chapter Ⅳ:Nanjing community family daily travel carbon emissions empirical research. Based on a sufficient study of Nanjing community family daily travel variables> the factors of the family attributes and community space, it found that the effect of family attributes is obviously bigger than that of community space. According to the above study and empirical data, it explore in depth the path of the two types acting on household travel carbon emissions.Chapter Ⅴ:The daily travel carbon reduction strategy. It proposes the carbon emission reduction strategies based on rigorous theoretical analysis and empirical analysis. The strategy is establishment in seven aspects of the three views. The concrete measures including the promotion of new energy transport, the development of vehicle emission standards, improving public transport connections, shaping environment of null carbon travel, increase residents’awareness of low-carbon travel, mixing land use and improving the supporting facilities.Chapter Ⅵ:Conclusions and discussions. It summarizes the main results of thesis research, and as CO2emission studies on post-space look.
