Shanxi is a province of great coal resources in China, coal resources have made important contributions to promoting the rapid development of China’s economy. In recent years after integration, expanding the scale of mine, Shanxi coal industry basically realized the centralized production and the production level is also rising, at the same time, The groundwater environment of Shanxi coal mining activities also caused more and more serious destruction in promoting the development of local economy. Mainly for the mined out form the effect of mining on groundwater water flowing fractured zone in overlying aquifers are destroyed, so that the leakage changed the original groundwater recharge runoff discharge conditions, it is a dynamic and continuous process. Including quantities of water, the impact of coal mining on the water quality can not be ignored. In this paper, according to the Xiyang energy limited liability company Department of Huangyanhui coal mine project, the paper predicted the influence of overlying aquifers in coal mining, which plays an important role in the improvement of life, and solves the contradiction between economic development and environmental protection, of the local residents.Huangyanhui coal mine is located in the territory of Xiyang County, Shanxi province, Ida area of15.0696km2, it is approved mining No.8、9、15coal seam. This paper collected the data existing in the study area, evaluated the present situation of water quality, and based on the field hydrogeological investigation and hydrogeological test, to the overlying aquifers as the research object, applied Visual MODFLOW software,took the Permian Shanxi formation sandstone fissure aquifer and the Carboniferous Taiyuan formation limestone fractured aquifer as simulation purposes aquifer, built the hydrogeological conceptual model and mathematical model, fixed the coefficient of permeability, water storage coefficient of hydrogeological parameters, through identification of the model test, and then the groundwater flow of numerical simulation was carried out.The simulation Divided into three phases5.8a,49.8a and10A after the closure. Finally, model of shallow groundwater quality is established, and groundwater quality conditions were simulated.Numerical simulation results show that:in the process of coal mining, overlying aquifer flow has a distinct tendency, groundwater level showed a downward trend in overall, groundwater funnel gradually expanded, the biggest drop is above112m in the funnel center. The water level at the center of the funnel rised after10years of closure, but the funnel of groundwater still exists.The first few years, the diffusion speed of pollutants is faster on the migration process of pollutants in unconfined aquifer; with the passage of time, the concentration of pollutants in groundwater will tend to a stable value. Pollutants in all directions has spread, but has obvious orientation, the diffusion of the pollutants is more obvious in the direction of groundwater flow.
