It’s no doubt that both Coal resources and water resources are very important to keeping the economy with high speed development. As a renewable resource, coal is not used in a right way, which has caused coal resources almost exhausted. In addition, the mining of coal polluted the underwater terribly, especially the mine mining resulted in changes of the level of the underwater. Due to the coal gangue and other industrial living garbage are lack of supervision, the quality of the groundwater is worse.As a province, which is rich in energy resources, The coal resources of Shanxi have made a great contribution to industrial development of china, At the same time, Shanxi also in the situation of great shortage of water resources. So, the contradiction between energy exploitation and protection of groundwater resources is becoming more and more prominent. Recently, many a researchers have done a large amount of work on the study of prediction of coal mining impact on the groundwater quality. Under this background, in this paper, we will choose a coal mine of Jin Mei group, namely Shang Kong coal mine as the example. First of all, we will collect hydrogeological data, and make survey about the index of ground water in coal mine, then, according to the related standards, we can calculate the result. By reading a lot of domestic and foreign literature and research results, and compared with a variety of groundwater simulation software, finally we select Visual Modflow as the study tool, which is widely used.According to the model establishment, data processing, parameter determination, model identification, through the simulation prediction function make full use of the MODFLOW software, get the forecasting result of administrative welfare area, industrial plant, coal gangue, including 1000 days,9.3 year,25.9 years of maximum horizontal distance, the maximum vertical distance and the largest area of influence. At last, we should take some measures about mine water and sewage comprehensive utilization, and give some suggestions for setting up Waterproof coal pillar between Mined out area and the new Mining area isolation belt. In addition, we should also propose the prevention measures of industrial site.
