HTV silicone rubber composite insulator has light weight, easy maintenance,strong pollution flashover resistance capability, high mechanical strength, easy toinstall transport advantages, therefore it has been widely used in electric powersystem. UV radiation can cause the macromolecular chain rupture of HTV siliconerubber, thus cause the change of HTV silicone rubber internal structure, make manychemical reactions happen such as degradation and oxidation, resulting incomposite insulator have different degrees of cracks, pulverization, hydrophobicsurface reduced, seriously affect the insulation and the stability of the powertransmission and transformation equipment, even flashover accident, cause hugeeconomic losses.Along with our country " west-east electricity transmission "project and UHVprojects,many composite insulator manufacturers have to develop more suitableUHV levels of composite insulation materials for application of UHV transmissionproject. And power transmission project in the regions, such as the xining and Lhasa,hami and other regions, have strong solar radiation and longtime sunshine all theyear, but the regional climate humidity is difference.Therefore, it is necessary underthe condition of different humidity,to study on UHV level and the general level ofHTV silicone rubber material’s ultraviolet aging characteristics.In this paper, the extraction of relative humidity variable, under differenthumidity conditions,UHV level and the general level of HTV silicone rubbermaterial taken for artificial ultraviolet aging experiment, to explore under differenthumidityconditions,different voltage grade of HTV silicone rubber material‘sultraviolet aging properties. Experimental samples of artificial ultraviolet agingexperiment taken in static contact angle test, hardness test, fourier transforminfrared spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis and thermal stimulation current (TSC) test,then integrate the test data and make theoretical analysis.Research results show that: in this paper, the artificial ultraviolet agingexperiment device can better simulate the natural ultraviolet aging aging effect ofdifferent humidity; UV radiation has a certain influnce on HTV siliconerubber.Humidity variable has two contray sides influence on ultraviolet agingcharacteristics of HTV silicone rubber material,its process is complicated; UHVlevels of HTV silicone rubber material in the formula and manufacturing processwere optimized, so under the same experimental conditions,the ultraviolet agingproperties of UHV level samples is better than that of ordinary level samples;Because thermal stimulus current test is to test deep internal aging current on body of sample, it is not suitable for test aging properties of samples which taken onartificial ultraviolet aging experiment that only mild aging sample surface.
