Reactor and regenerator is the most significant part in FCCU. The reliability of largehole distributional plate directly determines whether or not the process of catalytic crackingcan be carried out. In the structure of large hole distributional plate in large FCCU, structuraldimensions have large impact on the structure of large hole distributional plate. The3-D finiteelement modal is built up to simulate Mises stresses distribution of large hole distributionalplate, considering the maximum Mises stresses of large hole distributional plate at differentlength of vertical plate, different thickness of stainless steel, different thickness of cylinderexteriors and different density of short tubes emphatically, and find out the relationshipbetween maximum Mises stresses and structural dimensions. Meanwhile, the structuralintensity of large hole distributional plate under high temperature and pressure was checked,and the dangerous tress positions of large hole distributional plate is obtained. Theoptimization for these positions was done, including optimization of length of vertical plate,optimization of thickness of stainless steel, optimization of thickness of cylinder exteriors andoptimization of density of short tubes. The numerical simulation results show that whenvertical plate length is1050mm or1550mm, the thickness of stainless steel is38mm, themaximum Mises stresses ratio of large hole distributional plate and cylinder exteriors getsminimum value. The maximum Mises stresses ratio of large hole distributional plate andcylinder exteriors can be adjusted by the thickness of cylinder exteriors. The density of shorttubes has an optimal value, which can effectively reduce the stresses of large holedistributional plate and catalytic efficiency. At last, Latin Hypercube Sampling of MonteCarlo Sampling method is used to calculate the effect of all variables to the structural intensity.Which is concluded are the reliability of optimized large hole distributional plate andsensitivities of Large hole distributional plate to input variables, when the confidence level is0.95. The results of the study can provide references in optimal design of the large holedistributional plate.
