Cutting database system as a kind of intelligent manufacturing software, has becomeone of the important ways to improve the machining efficiency and economic benefits.Turning processing as one of the most important traditional manufacturing industry hasaccumulated a wealth of processing experience and data.Through analysed the existingproblems and development trends, cutting tool quick recommending andparametersoptimizedselecting were put forward according to the machining features andworkpiece material,a cutting database system with intelligent recommendation andprediction was developedafter the cutting process amounts and outcome prediction modelhad been established.Firstly, based on the intelligent turning database needs analysis, the goals ofdatabasesystem was determined and the overall framework of this system was builded. Besides, fourservice layers of the system’s core function weredesigned andit’s service frameworkwaswas constructed later.Secondly, for the realization of this systemto accurately predict the dynamic cuttingforce of complex surface machining process,various kinds of chip loads in complexsurfaces turning process were classified according to the dynamic features of chiploads,then several B-spline curves were used to construct a unified mathematical model of thedynamic chip loads. At the end, a new cutting forces prediction model was presented.Thirdly, after analysedthe root causesof cutting force dynamicvariationin complexsurface turning process, several feasible strategies of constant load optimization weredetermined.Based on the above research, rational selection of the tool, cutting parametersoptimization and programming were analyzed, respectively. After it, the advantages anddisadvantages of each optimization methodwasevaluated, and the more practicaloptimization strategywas determine, which provideda theoretical support for the intelligentturning database to optimize turning process effectively.By comparing the existingdata application system architecture, this database system’sdevelopment model was determine.After using the mainstream programming technology todesign the user interfaces, a database system which based on turning featureswasdeveloped.
