The informationization of the manufacturing industry is gradually becoming the developing trend of manufacturing industry, with the rapid development of the emerging cloud computing, Internet of things, big data and mobile Internet information technology being triggering a new round of technological revolution and the industrial revolution. "Software" as the interpretation of the Internet and an important component of the wisdom cloud technology, is the core engine combustion supporting agent of the third industrial revolution. Cutting database system as one kind of intelligent manufacturing system, has become one of the most important ways which intends to push cutting technology widely used and rapid development as well as improve the processing efficiency and economic benefit. This paper analyses the current problems and development trend of cutting database and proposes process route planning and parameters optimization based on the machining features. And on the base of machining process data analysis, cutting database system is researched and developed based on the analysis on the physical properties.Firstly, by the demand analysis of cutting database system, the objectives and functions of system development requirements are determined. In order to build the overall framework of the system based on the analysis of high strength steel cutting parameters, the three levels are designed.Secondly, the establishment method of process knowledge base system based on manufacturing features is proposed. In order to get the right combination of process model as well as achieve the purpose of process planning design, Boolean difference arithmetic is introduced. By observing the dynamic change situation, the cutting parameters are optimized, so as to achieve the purpose of effective control of cutting force. The optimization result is stored in the process knowledge base, taking turning process for an example to verify.Thirdly, the cutting physical data description standard is established with the concept of the full life cycle of cutting data put forward. By analyzing the validity of the process data, the classification of the available cutting data is described. According to the correct data type, the cutting data is stored. The function, in the other hand, improves the reuse of cutting data.Fourthly, based on the analysis through the application environment of the database system, the architecture model is determined. Using mainstream programming language and technology, the database system with service functions is completed.
