Because of carding technology, traditional rotor spinning can only produce pure yarn orblended yarn which is composed with two similar fiber. But it’s difficult to produce blended yarnwith two or more fibers which are much different in properties. To achieve different fiber sliverfeeding and carding separately, we developed double-carding technology of rotor spinning, hopingit can solve the problem that one combing roller can’t card fibers which are much different inproperties. Through spinning T/C blended yarn on F1612spinning machine, this topic does moreresearch on quality characteristics and structural characteristics of T/C blended yarn, hopingbroaden the application of the rotor spinning in blended yarn.First, this topic studied how different feeding way influence yarn quality of blended yarn.Though variance analysis and Tukey HSD test, we analysis and evaluate the relationship betweencarding technology and yarn quality. The experimental results showed that the yarn quality ofdouble-carding technology was better than that of single-carding technology in mechanicproperties、yarn unevenness、detail and hairiness index. But there was no difference betweendouble-carding technology and single-carding technology in slub. So from this comprehensiveevaluation, we knew that double-carding technology can improve the quality of blended yarn. Atthe same time, in double-carding, replace two kinds of fibers of the feeding position, but thecarding roller type constant, has no impact on the effect of basic yarn.Second, through the study of appearance and radial structure of T/C blended yarn spinning bydifferent feeding way, the radial structure spinning by double-carding technology was in line withthe requirements of the structure of the traditional rotor spun yarn. Its Yarn structure was moreclosely and its hairiness was more less than the yarn spinning by single-carding technology. Thetransfer regularity of polyester and cotton fiber was same between double-carding technology andsingle-carding technology. The carding effect was related to the distribution in the blended yarn. Ifthe carding effect was good, the polyester fiber would transfer inward to form the core. The cottonfiber tend to transfer out, forming the wrapped fibers.Third, through single factor test, rotor speed、 twist factor、combing type and combing speedhave a direct impact on the quality of T/C blended yarn spinning by double-carding technology. By orthogonal experiment, The carding roller model has more influence on the properties ofblended yarn. Better process conditions for the rotor speed is40000r/min, polyester fiber cardingroller OK37and cotton fiber carding roller OK40, the carding roller speed of7000r/min bycomprehensive consideration of various performance indicators.Last, this topic studied the influence of blending ratio on the performance of blended yarnspinning by different carding technology. With the increase of polyester fiber content, the breakingstrength and elongation at break of blended yarn spinning by two kinds of technology increased.But the yarn unevenness and hairiness index of T/C yarn spinning by double-carding technologywas subsequently reduced before they were bigger. Two kinds of index change was only reducingin single-carding technology. So different carding technology has an impact on the qualitydifferent blending ratio of mixed spinning yarn. Double-carding is more suitable for mixing ratioof two kinds of fibers.In a word, through the yarn indicators, the quality of blended yarn spinning bydouble-carding technology met the requirements of the yarn quality, expanding the research fieldof the rotor spinning in blended yarn.
