Cone crusher is the main equipment of rock material crushing and it is widely used inmetallurgy and mining, building, road construction chemical and silicate industry. Withthe new technology of more crushing and less grinding proposed and the ore dilutionincreased, while the mining and mineral processing have been scaling up, the amount ofore need to be processed increase sharply. Improving the quality and yield of cone crusherproduct become people’s focus. It has critical theoretical and practical significance toimprove users’ economic interests and promote the development of new crushingequipment. In this paper, the research focus on the cone crusher working performance, asfollows.In order to analyze the kinematic characteristics of granular particles in the conecrusher chamber more accurately, the falling termination criterion of particles and theseparation condition of particles and mantle are presented by researching the motivecharacters of cone crusher and particles. The prediction of particles trajectory in thecrushing cavity is realized. the variation law of the numbers, locations and velocities ofcrushing are obtained when the particles transport through the crusher chamber. And thefeasibility of model is verified by the experiments. All these tasks are useful for the qualityimprovement and output increasing, and also providing theoretical basis for crusherchamber profile optimization.In order to improve the product quality, this paper is based on the theory of crushingzones. the particles consecutive crushing process of cone crusher are deeply studied. Anew method which be used to calculate the compression ration during crushin process isproposed. The models of product grading, shape and energy consumption are built up. Theadjustable working parameters which close sidle setting, bushing rotational speed andstroke as variables are chose, and the analysis of qualitative and quantitative is made. Theconclusion can be used to guide the production site.A new designing idea aimed at the fine crushing cavity is proposed.A mantle curvewhich particles can fall at the same distance is proposed. By this way, the motion of particles is more reasonable. The concave curve is designed by the principle of equivalentvolume. Compared with original cavity, The new crushing cavity’s products, which sizeless than4mm, improve13%about particle grading and decrease7%about flakiness. Thenew fine crushing cavity improve the quality of the products effectively.
