In the era of rapid development of science, information and advanced technology,the roadheader’s diverse and individual needs become more evident. Traditionaldesign method has been unable to content the needs of the roadheader’s design anddevelopment, therefore, research a advanced design technology of the roadheader isimminent. To adapt the rapid development technology of the roadheader, on the basisof detailed research and analysis, fully combined with modern design method andadvanced design tools, the modular design method of the roadheader is researched.It’s laid a solid foundation of the roadheader’s high quality and high efficiencydesign.Thesis first introduces the sources and research background of the subject, andalso introduces the roadheader research and modular design present situation. Againstthe modular design method of the thesis contents, discusses the concept and thebenefits of modular design. The methods of module creation that based on the fuzzydendrogram representation, the simulated annealing algorithm and the analytichierarchy process are respectively discussed. Secondly, according to the modulardesign approach the modular design method is studied, the roadheader of spectrumare analyzed and planned. According to the roadheader design requirements, theoverall parameters are determined and the overall layout is given, functional analysisand functional reorganization of each module are completed. Detailed study of themodular design of the roadheader, and do the module division and module creation,the results of module division is given, the module code is completed and the modulelibrary is established. Finally, according to the modular design process of theroadheader and based on the Top-Down design technology, the modular designimplementation is given. Thesis briefly describes the Top-Down design content,determines the initial drive parameters of each module and does parametric modelingof the module. For example with the department of shovel, the location skeleton, theinterface skeleton and the design skeleton’s build are detailed discussed, the physicalmodels of the shovel department is given, eventually the whole modular design results of the roadheader is given, and then the different modules call and the moduleextensions are completed.Through in-depth study of the modular design method of the roadheader, proventhe modular design approach to improve the design efficiency of the roadheader isvery effective, using the Top-Down design technology combined with the modulardesign approach is very necessary, this combination effective solution to theproblems of the modular design and implementation. The introduction of a modulardesign approach to the roadheader designed to bring great benefits, and using theTop-Down design technology to improve the design efficiency, both methodscombine makes the roadheader’s design integrated onto a new level.
