Modern industrial civilization has advanced the rapid development of economy andtechnology, however, which as well brought about increasingly serious environmentalissues. In the report to the18thCongress of the Communist Party of China, it putsforward to construct ecological civilization, transforms the economic developmentpattern, and coordinates the relationship between ecological environment and economicdevelopment. As an important part of the society, corporations come to realized thatintensifying environmental management have become important factors that influencetheir sustainable development. However, domestic researches in this respect are stillunder study, and a sophisticated evaluation system for the corporate environmentperformance has not yet been set up. Moreover, there exist such problems as pooroperability of the evaluation index system, few industrial characteristics of theevaluation model and lack of empirical study.Based on the above background, this paper analyzes the feasibility and necessity ofthe introduction of balanced scorecard on the foundation of reference to the domesticand foreign research results of corporate environmental performance evaluation index.In this paper, it indicates that the principle criteria to set up index system are separatelycomprehensive principle, feasibility principle, hierarchy principle and cost-effectiveprinciple. Also, it establishes the corporate environmental performance evaluation indexsystem based on the balanced scorecard, specifically including the four dimensions suchas finance, stakeholder, internal process and learning and growth. Moreover, it deeplyanalyzes the relationships of financial and non-financial, internal and external factors ofeach dimension index. On this basis, AHP and FCE are applied to conduct quantitativeand qualitative empirical study on the environmental performance of sample corporate,mainly including the studies of environmental performance evaluation and strategy.YAHHP analytic hierarchy process soft is applied to determine the weight amongindexes, and according to the national relevant law and regulation membership matrixof each index performance evaluation is determined. Thus the throughout andcomprehensive objective evaluation of the sample corporate environmental performancelevel can be provided. In accordance with the evaluation results and the correlationamong indexes, strategy suggestion of environmental performance will be given to helpcorporations discover the existing problems in the practice of environmentalperformance management and provide scientific and reasonable basis for corporationsto set environmental objects and realize sustainable development.
