With the development of the world economy, people have higher requirements forsurvival requirements, quality of life, accompanied by the growing demand of oil, natural gasand other energy. Exploitation of offshore oil and gas resources has given rise to high priorityaround the world, and accelerated development of offshore oil resources has become a vitalpart of the national energy strategy. Offshore platforms as the infrastructure oil and gasproduction, once production and living slightly careless, major accident will occur, causingheavy casualties and property losses, marine environmental pollution and ecological damageto the environment.A case study of one gas field in the South China Sea platform, natural gas and water arethe main flow medium in the production process. The risk of oil and gas leakage hazards mayoccur in the platform process equipment and facilities and any area of natural gastransportation coverage. The hazardous substances of may occur leaking are mainly naturalgas and diesel.The article firstly makes the hazard identification to the platform through the analysis ofplatform structure, product and process. Due to the offshore platform’s own specialcharacteristics of confined space, the risk of leakage may occur in any area covered bynatural gas transportation and the technology of processing equipment and facilities. PHASTsoftware simulated the hazardous areas of leak gas of platform, and studied the the effects ofatmospheric stability, wind speed, leakage time and leakage of pore size on the size of theleak hazardous area. The results showed that the stronger of the wind, the more strength ofgas diffusion; The more stable of the atmosphere, the bigger of aperture; And the longer timeof leaking, the larger of diffusion area, and also more dangerous. Then simulate over-pressureand high-temperature thermal radiation of vapor cloud explosion by AUTOREGAS andcontrast the values of the overpressure and thermal radiation makes damage to people andbuildings, visually analysis and simulation to get leak range and damage radius. When thepoint of observation at6、8and9, the people died on the spot and the buildings totally be destroyed. In these points of2、3、4、5、10、11and12, the people seriously injured and mostof the buildings are damaged; In the four points of1、13、14and15, the people middle injured.And because of the ground effect of confined space explosion, leading to blast overpressuresignificantly enhanced.1point the same distance from the kindling point, the overpressureand the temperature is greater than15points. In other words, the damage of observation pointof platform extension was much higher than the platform epitaxial. Thus put up withrecommendations and improved measures to prevent the occurrence of fire and explosionaccidents in offshore platforms.
