Drill Pipe mechanical equipment is one of the important equipments to assist onesemi-submersible drilling platform for offshore operations. This equipment should improvethe configuration of a offshore drilling platform, strengthen the ability to deal with complexenvironmental elements, improve efficiency so as to reduce average cost. At the same time, itwill ensure safety and reduce the labor intensity of workers. This equipment has had a longhistory of research and application abroad, however, it just has a beginning domestic.In this paper, a set of DP Stand Mechanical Equipment to the Wellhead for theSemi-submersible Drilling Platform was designed, with which drill pipes could be migratedbetween the DP keeper and wellhead, and which could also assist the drilling operation.Firstly, research situation of drill pipe mechanical equipment both at home and abroadwas introduced, the significance and the main content of this thesis was analysised. Secondly,in view of semi-submersible drilling platform, selecting the type of drill pipe keeper,designing the process flow, and deciding the overall scheme of this equipment. As a result,types of double manipulator arms was choosen, and the main equipment parameters was putforward. Then, in order to provide theoretical data for the design of mechanical system, theforward kinematics and the inverse kinematics analysis were carried out, as well as thefundamental analysis of speed. then, the special environmental load of this equipment wasanalyzed, therefore, static analysis and dynamic analysis of a portion of the equipment wascarried on. Next, using the sofeware of SolidWorks, the whole design of mechanical systemwas done, mechanical structure was designed, calculation and drawing three-dimensionalscheme of each parts was completed, transmission scheme and the drive scheme was choosen.In process of design, intensity of some of the parts and components were checked. Finally, in order to verify the rationality of the design and the function of the equipment, based onVRML, A virtual run was executed, the results indicated the design was successful on thewhole.
