The article mainly researched the preparation of ethylene polypropylene rubber(EPDM)/ethylene octene elastomer(POE)/polypropylene(PP). By using the method ofdynamical vulcanization technique, we prepared the thermoplastic elastomers withdifferent processing technic and different ingredients dosage. We characterized thethermoplastic elastomers, too. Firstly we discussed the impact on mechanical propertiesof the amount of EPDM, PP dosage, amount of curing agent for curing characteristics andtypes of POE to the blends, and scanned the electron microscopy of dispersion; secondlywe discussed the effect of the blending process of the thermoplastic elastomer; then wediscussed the influence of different coordinate systems on the thermoplastic elastomers;Finally, by comparing with different types of the thermoplastic elastomers, and to find outthe deficiencies in the thermoplastic elastomer, which in order to obtain a lowcompression permanent deformation and cost-effective material.The results showed that: In the EPDM/POE/PP thermoplastic blends,with theincreasing of EPDM content, the mechanical properties of the elastomer has improved,thecompression did not change significantly, When the EPDM amount was100phr, themechanical properties of the elastomers was better; When PP amount was30phr, themechanical properties of the elastomer was better; with the increasing of the amount ofvulcanized resin, the degree of cross linking increased, When the amount of resin was5phr, the mechanical properties was better. In the three kinds of POE, POE810had thesmaller compression set and the better mechanical properties.By using the torque rheometer dynamically vulcanized EPDM/POE/PPthermoplastic elastomer, blending in the torque rheometer at a processing temperature of160℃, rotate speed of60rpm,6minutes dynamic vulcanization conditions, thecomprehensive mechanical properties of the elastomer was better. Twin screw extruderprocess compared with the preparation of the torque rheometer technology, twin-screw extruder technology could make a better EPDM/POE/PP thermoplastic elastomer.When using peroxide as curing system, with the increasing of DCP dosage, themechanical properties of the elastomer gradually improved. When the DCP amount was0.8phr, the comprehensive mechanical properties of the elastomer was better; with theincreasing of carbon black content, the mechanical properties firstly decreased and thenincreased. When the amount of carbon black was30phr, it played a reinforcing effect;compared with different types of fillers, filler N85was better.In the comparison of different types of polypropylene, the homo-polypropyleneblended with the elastomer was better than the co-polypropylene; the mechanicalproperties was better than the commercialization thermoplastic elastomer and the reusabledegree was better, the melt index was lower. We could obtain from the TG analysis, theheat resistance of EPDM/POE/PP thermoplastic elastomer was superior than thecommercial elastomer. We knew that the thermoplastic elastomer with POE810, had thesmaller particle,the better compatibility matrix from the SEM;The two-screw extrusion mechanism of thermoplastic elastomer was superior to hucktorque rheometer of thermoplastic elastomer.The SantopreneA86contained twopolypropylenes,the Santoprene101-87contained co-polypropylene. The thermoplasticelastomer we made had a crystalline melting POE platform. The thermoplastic elastomerwith homo-propylene had a better comprehensive mechanical properties.
