In China,the water pollution is a extremely urgent problem. The current basic water quality monitoring data collected using artificial manner, extremely arduous difficulties in collecting remoteness, harsh environments broad areas. Therefore, the latest development direction of the water quality monitoring study is to build a strong intelligent system.Based on the rapid development of wireless sensor networks,this paper designs and develops a kind of water quality monitoring IOT system. The system based on Mote Works development kit produced by Crossbow company and used for unattended, long-distance transmission and other applications is running TinyOS.Firstly, the paper describes the current development of domestic networking technology, and the water quality monitoring system used in wireless sensor networks involves theoretical foundation and key technologies.Secondly, the paper analyzes the specific demands of water quality monitoring systems used in IOT, according to which it gives the overall design of the frame. Then the article describes the hardware and software are designed based Mote Works development kit for wireless sensor nodes. Moreover, the system illustrates the advantage of MoteWorks development kit to receive and display module implements the acquisition of the entire system, transmission and display functions.Finally, by specialized test of the designed system, we show the ultimate results and summarize the study. And illustrate and analyze the disadvantage of the whole work, then put forward some suggestion for the further study.
