With the rapid development of population and social economy, the water quality of hydropower station is getting worse. This change has not only exacerbated the erosion of turbine unit, but also has had a serious impact on the lives of residents downstream hydropower station. By the artificial regular or irregular sampling of reservoir water, it requires a lot of manpower and funds, and is difficult to grasp the real-time status of water quality. If using a distributed system with the cable connection to monitor the water quality information of reservoir, Problems such as wiring difficulties, high investment costs and inconvenient maintenance will occur. Therefore, we urgently need to find a new technology to achieve the real-time online monitoring of water quality information in hydropower station. And the development of wireless sensor network technology is providing the technical basis for this demand. In this paper, the ZigBee wireless sensor network technology is applied to build a wireless monitoring system for water quality information in hydropower station. The system can solve the problem of water quality information collection inconvenience in hydropower station, which has the advantages of real-time, network convenience and easy maintenance.Firstly, based on the analysis of the ZigBee wireless sensor network technology, the overall scheme of the system is determined. The goal of the paper is to build a wireless sensor network system for monitoring the water quality information in hydropower station, and to realize the collection, transmission and processing of the multiple water quality parameters.Secondly, the hardware circuit design of wireless sensor network node is introduced in detail. It uses a modular design, including the circuit design of processor module, power module and signal conditioning module.Then, based on the analysis of the Z-Stack protocol stack and combined with the hardware circuit design of the sensor, the drivers of all kinds of water quality sensors and node voltage monitoring procedures are written and added to the Z-Stack project template to realize the collection of sensor signals. At the same time, the formation of ZigBee network begins to be carried on, and the software for the water quality monitoring is written by using Visual Basic6.0 as the development platform.Finally, the whole system is tested. The results show that the data acquisition of sensor nodes is accurate, the ZigBee network is stable, and the water quality monitoring software is reliable.
