Without altering the present use pattern of fossil fuels, biodiesel (which is green environmental substitutive fuel) becomes the best option. Therefore, research on biodiesel attracts more and more attention. This paper focuses on power and emissions performance of methyl oleate which is the main component of biodiesel mixed with diesel. It has important scientific sense of doing further research on biodiesel for its application. This paper is doing external characteristic experiment with different BX blending methyl oleate biodiesel respectively. It studies fuel economy, power and emissions performances of different biodiesel with BX containing methyl oleate under the circumstances of full load and partial load. The results show that:(1) With the increasing of blended fuel ratios, dynamic performance of biodiesel improves first then degrades, and the ratio of fuel consumption rises gradually.(2) As blended fuel ratios increase, soot emissions, CO emissions and HC emissions of diesel engine reduce gradually, while NOx emissions rise to a certain extent.(3) Within an appropriate blending ratio (lower blending ratio is better, as concluded), it can reduce soot emissions, HC emissions and CO emissions effectively and control the increase of NOx emissions better. It also keeps economic and dynamic performance of fuel.
