Accuracy of gauge is all important indicator of the steel rolling,rolling gauge control is one of the core in technology areas. Automatic Gauge Control System(AGC)is an important part in automatic system in mill.lt is difficult to build an exact mathematic model because of the complexity of mill process and the uncertain parameters. Intelligent technology is an effective way to solve the problem.As an important development in rolling direction, precision rolling technology proposes higher demands on control accuracy for the hydraulic AGC system.This subject is based on the hot strip mill automatic gauge control hydraulic AGC system of Falcon Wing Paper Mill Company in Shandong Province,and the primary research had been done are as follows:(1)On the base of analyzing the working characteristics of the hydraulic AGC system, the subject has a theoretical analysis on the hot rolling mill hydraulic automatic gauge control (AGC) system and determines the control program.(2)Has conducted a comprehensive analysis of the hydraulic AGC system and simplified the system reasonable to establish the system’s mathematical model.(3)Has actually selected the main components for the hydraulic AGC system.(4)Has simulated the hydraulic AGC system with the Simulink software to analyze the system’s dynamic and static characteristics. Has designed the PID controller design for the system to adjust the system and make it meet the design requirements.(5)According to the characteristics of the hydraulic AGC system, adapted the fuzzy adaptive PID control, the hybrid fuzzy-PID control and PID control respectively to intelligently control the system, and then analyzed and compared the three control strategies.The results show that the fuzzy adaptive PID control works best and meets the system’s requirements of fast response and high precision.
