Structural damage and destruction of parts is always an important problemplagued by technical personnel. How to improve the quality of products bynumerical analyzing and optimal designing has become the key to solve theproblem. With the rapid development of computer technology, CAE technologyhas been applied to this field.In this paper, in order to solve the problem U-shaped nylon slider appearscrack and even fracture in the actual use of the process, we simulate thestructural damage by using ANSYS WOEKBENCH software to find the reasonand simulate injection molding by using Moldflow software to optimal design.Finally the reason of this problem is found and provide scientific guidance toimprove the nylon U-shaped slider product quality and damage problems. Themain conclusions are as follows:(1)Products may has too large residual stress and obvious deformation beforebeing used prone to fracture.(2)When the part is without obvious defect, the main reason of the part’sfracture is the U-shaped slider’s size lack of enough precision result in the stressconcentration value84.9MPa at the ends too large beyond the withstanding limitof the part75MPa and ultimately caused the product’s crack when loadingweight stressing and vibration stressing.(3) This paper puts forward an optimal scheme for injection molding process:injecting from two points to one only on the side can reduce the U-shapedslider’s weld line and decrease the stress concentration from90.04MPa to72.85MPa; rising mold temperature and melt temperature, prolonging dwell timefor shape forming makes U-shaped bearing slider’s warping deformationdiminished from2.882mm to0.9574mm. These optimal designs improve thequality of the products and at the same time meet the production requirements.
