With the development of the plastics industry,plastic products have been widely used in almost all industries such as aerospace,automotive,appliances,and medical profession.The structure of product is becoming more and more complicated and high precision,and mold engineers are facing increasing challenges.The traditional method of CAD design has the characteristics of repeated modeling,making mistakes easily and low efficiency.Using standard parts for design can solve these problems effectively,and avoid the increase of mold cost by the design errors produced by mold engineers.This thesis first classifies the mold slider base components used in the practiced company,then establish the template of standard parameter file of the slider base system based on the UG secondary development platform,and build the size expression of each component of the slider base.Based on these techniques the database of parameterized standard slider base used by this company was established.The main results are as follows:(1)According to the method of slider position,the slider base assembly is divided into four typical structures,and then the master control parameters and process parameters of the slider base system are extracted via the structure of slider base.The template of parameter file of the slider base standard component of the mold is drawn up;(2)According to the relationship of affiliation and geometric characteristics,establish standard rules for the name of the slider base standard components.According to the role of the component and the relationship,the size expressions is found.Then the logical relationship between the slider base and the components or among components are established,and the driven system of characteristic parameter is built.(3)Based on the UG secondary development platform,an intelligent matching system for slider base standard parts was developed,and the rapid selecting,location,and generation of the slider base standard parts were realized.The characteristic sizes of the slider base standard parts can also be modified and edited easily.A method of mold design with slider base standard part was proposed in this thesis to illustrate how to apply the slider base standard part system for mold design of the automotive part—pyramid ring and the Zinc Alloy Die Casting lock shell used in cars.The developed standard slider base system solves the traditional design problems such as repeated modeling of the slider base and repeated matching of component sizes.The research has increased the efficiency and quality of mold design,reduced the cycle of manufacturing and mold cost,and improved the benefits of enterprise.
