The combustion control level will directly affect the indicators of production processes for walking beam reheating furnace, such as, product quality and energy consumption. With the increasing scarcity of energy consumption, reducing production costs, reducing energy consumption and improving products quality have become an important development direction of the iron and steel enterprises. Additionally, the heating quality of billet will directly affect the quality of the finished products, and will also determine the working condition quality of follow-mill. Recently, the combustion control method of the reheating furnace which aims on saving energy and improving the quality of billet has been widely studied.Silicon steel is a special type on steel production. Because the more complicated the production process is, the higher it profits. In order to improve the market competitiveness of enterprises, There will build a new walking beam reheating furnace on AnSteel which is going to be used to produce Silicon steel. I participated in the designing and construction work of the4th silicon furnace in1780production line. Especially I was Responsible for the electronic and instrumentation parts. This paper will analysis and study the furnace combustion control system components, combustion model design and control system design, The study and analysis will become a reference for designing and researching of the similar furnace combustion system control.Firstly, This paper will provide an overview about the process requirements and system components of the walking beam reheating furnace, analyze the combustion system control model, which focus on the master-slave control in temperature control model, dual cross limiting control, inter-pull control and impulse control several temperature control method. Secondly, This paper will analyze the PCS7process control system, WINCC monitoring software, and elaborates combustion system design ideas through combining with program design. Lastly, the index of the control system is being analyzed through actual operating results, which show that the design of the furnace combustion control system is reasonable, reliable, and it meets the requirements of silicon furnace combustion control.
