Transfer coating was used to paint coating to the substrate surface throughmulti-channel processes, then removed the original base material so that it couldtransfer the coating to another surface. Transfer coating was mainly used in transferaluminized paper. Recently, because of national policy was constantly issued; itprovided the opportunity for the development of the transferred aluminized paper andtransfer coating. In this topic, we studied the transfer coating by three differentaspects.Firstly, we invented a kind of the alcohol soluble transfer coating by improvingorganic solvent paint. We used ethanol as the solvent, then made all of the monomersto react free radical polymerization, so we studied the influent factors like functionalmonomers, initiator, reaction temperature, monomer ratio, etc. The results showedthat functional monomers hydroxyl-propyl acrylate (HPA) and hydroxyethylmethylacrylate (HEMA) could improve the alcohol soluble. They were nearly thesame influence on the alcohol soluble, but HEMA had better influence on itsadhesion; When the content of initiator was between0.2-0.3%, the resin flow time isbetween22-30s; When the reaction temperature was between80-85℃, the monomerconversion could be controlled over90%; When the ratio of soft monomer and hardmonomer (BA:MMA) was1:1.4, the hardness of coating was H, strippingperformance was fine.The second was emulsion acrylic coating, we synthesized the stable core-shelltype emulsion by seed emulsion polymerization method. We studied the impact ofthe stability of the emulsion, the monomer conversion, the coating surface energy tothe reaction temperature, reaction time, the choice and dosage of emulsifiers, etc. theresults showed that when the temperature controlled at80℃, the reaction time was3-4h, we got the emulsion and its viscosity was fine. When we used SDS andcomposite emulsifier OP-10, and the ratio of soft monomer and hard monomer was 1:1.3, the formation of the emulsion stability, film brittle and the hardness between Hto2H, the surface energy is higher than the surface energy of PET film, it could bestripped completely.The third was water soluble acrylic resin coating. We studied the impact ofviscosity, coating hardness, coating surface energy to the neutralizing agent,neutralization degree, initiator The results showed that when we used the ammonia asneutralization agent, the neutralization degree (EN) was75%, and the content ofacrylic monomers was around10%, the coating hardness for H to2H, the brittleness,good gloss, with PET film stripped completely.By comparing three different coatings, we found that alcohol soluble typecoating the glossiness was good, but its solvent resistance was ordinary; the emulsioncoating of solvent resistance and water resistance were good, but with theintroduction of its film forming additives, its glossiness was general; water solublefilm coating performance was good, but its brittleness was ordinary and waterresistance was not good. In the different production and application environment, wecan appropriately choose different kinds of resin coating. Through testing the threekinds of coatings, all of them could meet performance index which proposed bymanufacturer, it could be suitable for transfer coat.
