Cyclone separator is a rotatory motion separate equipment, which uses the effect ofcentrifugal force separating the solid particles from the lfow of gas-solid fluid. It has theadvantages of simple structure, easy maintenance, high temperature resistance, and low cost.It is widely used in environmental protection, powder, oil, chemical, metallurgy, materials?and other ifelds.But China started late on the study of the axial flow cyclone separator, so the problems ofimmature technology and less field application are caused. In this paper, computational fluiddynamics software FLUENT is used to simulate the axial flow cyclone separator.Gas flow field simulation inside the cyclone separator is the base of the next step abouttwo-phase flow simulation. To ensure high-quality structured grid,anisotropic turbulencemodel (RSM) is adopted,meanwhile, the corresponding difference scheme of QUICK andpressure interpolation format of PRESTO are used in numerical simulation analysis. Thedistribution of internal gas velocity, distirbution of pressure and pressure loss, turbulencedistribution of the flow ifeld, Reynolds stresses and secondary lfow phenomena are analyzed.Internal gas-solid flow is simulated in the cyclone separator. Stochastic model withdiscrete-phasc and the phase coupling simulation method were used in the simulation of thesolid particles inside the cyclone separator. Through the analysis, the particle trajectoires in theseparator, gas flow field effect to the particle phase and the influence of inlet velocity, particledensity and other parameters to the efifciency of the separation are obtained.The influence of structural parameter, such as guide vane angle, exhaust pipe diameter,to separation performance is analyzed. The influence rule of the structural parameter of theaxial flow cyclone separator to the separation performance is mastered. The results providereference to the structure optimization.
