Big die-roll commonly occurs in the sharp area of the tooth in thefine-blanking process of toothed parts, which has negative effects on the workingperformance and life of the parts.This phenomenon has always been a troublesomeproblem in real practice. This paper aims to study the problem from theperspective of fine-blanking mechanism and process parameters and then proposecontrol measures.Firstly, the main process factors affecting the die-roll size were foundthrough the study of forming mechanism of fine-blanking, then numericalsimulation for the fine-blanking process was carried out using Deform-3Dsoftware and the principle of fine-blanking formation was further studied byanalysing the stress-strain states, metal flow and velocity field in theshear-deformation zone. Numerical simulation plan was proposed and carried outaccording to each process parameter, and then the influences of each factor wereanalysed on base of numerical simulation. Finally, experiments were carried outso as to verify the accuracy of the numerical simulation, and optimized parameterswere given according to the analysis above.After the study,5curves of die-roll size following v-intender position,punch-die clearance, intender force, counter force, die radius respectively werederived, which indicate the relationship between each parameter and die-roll. Anddie-roll size was reduced and controlled in a desired range using the optimizedprocess parameters.
